Youth and Intergenerational Ministry 
St. Matthew’s strives to help people of all ages, from pre-school to senior,  to develop and deepen their faith. If you would like further information on these programs, please contact Terese Lewis.
 
Journey to Adulthood:  A Journey of Faith Formation for Grades 7 and 8
 
During this two-year program, the focus is on preparing and empowering young people on their journey to adulthood. J2A concentrates especially on six skills and six affirmations which provide the backbone for faith formation
.
In doing so, we pray that they will discover themselves as participants on God’s journey with the world, and also become an integral part of St Matthew’s faith community.
 
J2A Goals
  • To celebrate the transition from youth to adulthood
  • To train young people in the skills of adulthood
  • To explore the mystery of faith
  • To integrate faith with life and liturgy
 
Studio Faith: A Journey of Faith Formation for High School Students
 
Studio Faith is a monthly interactive event for high school students in a home theatre. The approach is faith formation through contemporary film and music. The focus will be on the integration of faith with everyday life and basic faith practices.
 
Studio Faith Goals
  • To celebrate God’s presence and activity in the world
  • To grow faith community through film and music
  • To integrate faith with life and basic Christian practices
  • To learn how to participate on God’s journey with the world
Family Faith:  A Journey of Faith Formation for Families
 
Family Faith is a monthly housegroup event for families. During these gatherings of families with similar age children, families will learn how to share and live their faith together as a family.
 
The focus will be on family rituals, basic faith practices, and how to share faith together in the family. In doing so, we pray that they will discover themselves as participants on God’s journey with the world, and also become an integral part of St Matthew’s faith community.

  • To celebrate God’s presence in the world, family, and personal lives
  • To grow faith community in the family
  • To engage together in basic family rituals and faith practices
Mission and Service Activities
St. Matthew's youth also participate in the service and social justice activities of the church including an annual mission trip, such as the one illustrated above where St. Matthew's youth helped build houses on the Shoshone reservation in Ethyte, Wyoming.
