Annual Reader Meeting

The annual meeting and gathering for all readers and prayer leaders will be on Sunday, September 24 at 11:30 am.

If you have served as a reader in the past, or would like to begin serving as a reader, this meeting is for you. Reading is for everyone--young, old, and everyone in between.

Lessons are sent in advance by Wednesday evening via the City.

Readers are encouraged to practice the readings out loud, and arrive early to church on Sunday so as to practice using our microphones. Some readers also like to read the lessons using multiple Bible translations, to understand what parts to emphasize. We are happy to coach anyone on the use of the microphones as well as improving your reading skills. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please come to the meeting, or contact Laura Bathke via the City.

Newcomer and New Member Class

New to St. Matthew's? Wanting to learn more about our faith community and to make some deeper connections? Desiring to officially join St. Matthew's? If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, please join our Rector the Rev. Blair Pogue in the church Library Sept 24 and Oct 1 from noon to 1:30 pm for a time of getting to know other newcomers and church leaders, learning more about the core stories and spiritual practices of St. Matthew's, and more about the Anglican/Episcopal approach to Christianity.

Please rsvp to Blair at rector@stmatthewsmn.org and let her know if you need child care.
