Youth Programs

Youth at St. Matthew's

J2A (Grades 7* - 10)

J2A is a curriculum for teens that helps them take on more responsibility for adulthood and go deeper theologically. Students explore group dynamics, the self, and begin to dig deeper into the Episcopal Church, the Christian Faith, and the Bible. At St. Matthew's, our J2A program has been adapted for our students. At the end of their J2A experience, students plan and go on a pilgrimage to a place of their choice. The J2A group occasionally meets for social events outside of the education hour, including lock-ins and other gatherings.

*Some 7th grade students may choose to remain with the 4 - 7 cohort, and so 7th graders at St. Matt's have a choice this year in where they'd like to be.

Youth Opportunities

Youth at St. Matthew's participate in the full life of the church. They are acolytes, readers, and Godly Play teachers. They are musicians and budding theologians. Throughout the year, youth opportunities include fun gatherings, service gatherings, lock-ins, and retreats with the greater Minnesota Episcopal Church.
