Welcome to St. Matthew's!  Visitors are invited to a 7-minute welcome immediately following the 10:30am Eucharist by the baptismal font, and to join the community for refreshments downstairs in the parish hall.

Education Hour:
St. Matthew's offers Christian Education for all ages on Sundays at 9:15am (September-May 18). Children ages 3 through 3rd Grade are invited to Godly Play.  Grades 4-6 may attend Faithweavers. Earth Day Celebration:
All is welcome to participate in our Earth Day Celebration TODAY, April 27 at 9:15am in College Park (across the street).

Men's Bible Study:  The next meeting for our bi-weekly Men's Bible Study is THIS Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30am in the parish library. For more info, contact Dwight at dzscheile001@luthersem.edu.
 
Taizé Candlelight Prayer:
  The next worship is THIS Thursday, May 1 at 7:30pm in the sanctuary. Taizé worship is ecumenical, contemplative and draws upon ancient Christian symbols and practices.  Invite a friend!
 
St. Matthew's Used Book
Sale: The book sale will start NEXT Saturday May 3 in the Undercroft.  Please bring any books, videos, CD's and games you wish to donate before Thursday. If you are interested in helping with the sale, contact Megan Gangl at (651) 483-1673.
 
Confirmation
:  On Saturday, May 10 (11am) Aria Christenson, Paul Nerland, Liz Roepke, Tom Grab and Chris Blomquist will be confirmed at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. Please consider attending the service as a way to show your support for them! We will also recognize them at St. Matthew's on May 11 at the 10:30 service. Please keep them in your prayers.
 
Do you feel called to teach?

Canoe Trip: Larry and Marcia Roepke have offered to take up to six young adults canoeing in the Boundary Waters from July 16-23.  If you are interested, please contact Larry at larryroepke@gmail.com or (651) 775-0778 as soon as possible, so that final plans can be made.

St Paul Area Council of Churches Annual Assembly: Join the St Matthew's Episcopal Church table for lunch at the SPACC Annual Assembly on Friday, May 2, (12-1:30pm) at the Clarence W. St. Matthew's Youth Choir/Ensemble:  All youth, ages 9 and up, who love to sing, play any instrument or would like to learn, please join us! Our next rehearsal will be Sunday, May 4 at 5pm. Multilingual Reading:  Do you speak a language other than English?  A favorite St. Matthew's tradition is the reading of a passage from Acts on Pentecost Sunday (May 11) simultaneously in many languages. If you would like to participate, please contact Jan Puffer at thompuff@comcast.net.
 
Social Justice opportunity!
  St. Matthew's is once again participating in Loaves & Fishes on SUNDAY, May 25. Loaves & Fishes gives us the opportunity six times a year to feed 250 to 330 hungry people at the Dorothy Day Center in downtown St. Paul. Six to eight cooks and 14 servers are needed for this effort to work well (cooks should be at the Dorothy Day Center at 2pm, and servers at 4pm).  Please sign up in the undercroft, if you can help.  We also need 55 dozen cookies and bars.  For more information, contact Ray Dietman at (612) 669-3040, or rdietman@visi.com.

St. Matthew's 2008
Mission Trip:  St. Matthew's is sponsoring a mission trip to Wind River Reservation in Ethete, Wyoming from June 14-22 where we will help elderly, disabled or disadvantaged residents with basic home repairs. Anyone who will be 12 years or older by the start of the workcamp or is entering the 7th grade in the fall is eligible to attend.  For more information, contact Ray Dietman at (651) 642-9944 or rdietman@visi.com.
